Thanks! He stayed very still for quite some time so very easy to grab the shot. PS, hope he has lots of brothers and sisters (although he’s the first I’ve seen this year.)
That’s quite a find! It’s hard to see the adults because they stay so well hidden, I’ve never seen a young one before.
We may have met his mom last year… https://whattheducks.com/2012/09/20/four-wings-and-a-prayer/ But, I agree, not sure how he even caught my eye because I was not about to open the trash can, I just happened to be walking by. Very happy to have the mantis family in the ‘hood, however!
