What the Ducks!

I recently witnessed one of these carry off what looked to be a rodent of some kind. They are nesting in a group of trees behind our place. Right smack dab in the middle of town.
Nesting! Oh no, that’s what my mom said! I surely hope not around here!!! 🙂
Great shot of the Cooper’s hawk, if it hangs around, it may get used to your being close to it. One at the apartment where I used to live would follow me around.
Oh, no! I hope not! Took this with the telephoto lens so I didn’t get as close as it may appear. On the other hand, they have certainly not been that deterred by my presence in the yard over the last two years. (As you may recall from earlier posts.) I’m hoping that once this long winter finally says goodbye, we can say the same to the hawks. We don’t put up feeders but the migrating songbirds have been stopping by to nibble at the ducks’ food and water. It’s hard to avoid this time of year, unfortunately.
