Actually, I had to look up the reference because I remembered the words but not the title. It’s “Scarborough Fair/Canticle” by Simon & Garfunkel (1966). Just read the lyrics, too–haunting, lovely & sad.
One of my all time favourites, a bit older than Simon & Garfunkel by a few centuries but I have not heard a better version than theirs
